This project tries to offer a new experience for any Linux user trying to run a standalone E17 desktop environment in the past, simply by combining the power and simplicity of the Ubuntu OS and parts of the GNOME project, with the astonishing Enlightenment DR17 window manager. The creation of this tool marked the first availability of a Desktop Effects Manager, similar to that of Ubuntu, for an Enlightenment desktop. Being surrounded by Enlightenment, I expected some eye candy as I hovered my pointer over them, but they didn't seem to care and remained static. And so started the usual process. A stable operating system with rolling packages. As you can see in the screenshot below, it's quite a sight having all these enabled.

If my memory is correct, OpenGEU actually Geubuntu, its ex-name was my first encounter with the Enlightenment window manager and, though I couldn't get used to it, I was quite impressed overall.
